Rev. David and Sue Wade - Pastors

Email Pastor Wade    //     Email Sue

Rev. David Wade is pastor of the Family Worship Center. Originally from Sullivan, Indiana, he married his wife, Sue, in 1973. They have been blessed with two children, Melissa McKinnies and Nate, and two granddaughters, Morgan and Zoe.

The Wades were active in youth ministries and served as assistant pastor while at the First Pentecostal Church in Dunkirk, Indiana from 1980 to 1985. Pastor Wade was elected sectional youth director of the Indiana District United Pentecostal Church, a position he held from 1982 to 1990. His duties as sectional youth director included organizing youth camps, sectional youth activities, and fundraising for Sheaves for Christ. He was elected Pastor of the United Pentecostal Church in Portland in 1985. In 1992, Pastor Wade was given the opportunity to serve as sectional Home Missions Director. In this position, he promoted the raising of funds within the section to help build Apostolic churches.

Under his pastorship, the United Pentecostal Church grew and the need for a bigger facility became apparent. Pastor Wade led the way in building an addition to the existing structure which included a 375 seat sanctuary, foyer, office, nursery, classrooms, prayer rooms, and restrooms. The new building was ready for the first service on April 26, 1998. In 2001, the old sanctuary was remodeled into the current fellowship area. A building next to the church was purchased and has been converted into a Youth House. In 2003, the church name was changed from the United Pentecostal Church to the Family Worship Center. The city of Portland and the Family Worship Center have truly been blessed by the leadership of the Wades throughout the past years and look forward to continued revival in the future.
